Dunfermline midfielder Mark Kerr doesn't know what sort of reception he will receive when he returns to Pittodrie with his new club.
The 29-year-old left Aberdeen two years ago, and had previously been captain in the North East. However, his captaincy was plagued by poor results with the club finishing in the bottom half and being eliminated from the Europa League by Sigma Olomouc.
Despite the added pressure, Kerr insists that he simply wants to put in a performance for his new club.
He said: "I had a great first year when I was at Aberdeen, although the second season was a bit up and down when I was the captain.
"I think it was noticed after I left that there were more problems than just the players who were there that year, but I am just glad to see that Aberdeen are starting to do all right again as overall I had a good time at the club.
"Leaving was pretty hard and the year and a half I have been away, it seems to be much the same up there. Obviously, when you go back somewhere, you hope the fans aren't too harsh.
"To be honest, I don't know what to expect. It might be a mixed reception but I can deal with that and it isn't a problem. I'm still in touch with loads of the lads up there and it will be good to see them again."
Kilmarnock were also interested in taking the former Falkirk and Dundee United midfielder, but Kerr insists that Dunfermline were the only club that offered him a deal.
He added: "The manager put an offer on the table within a day. That was the problem with the other teams. I was having to wait a day, wait another day and the only offers of deals were verbal ones.
"I knew I was getting involved with a team who were down there. We have had a good win against Killie but everyone needs to dig in again and pick up a few results.
"I have been involved in a couple of relegation battles before with Falkirk and Dundee United and I never went down with either of them."
