Dunfermline Athletic missed the chance to leapfrog Hibernian in the SPL table on Tuesday night, but their manager says they are still in the fight to avoid relegation.

The Pars drew 1-1 with Kilmarnock, lifting them level on points with Hibs on 18. The Edinburgh club have a game in hand, however, and remain in 11th on goal difference.

Dunfermline boss Jim McIntyre saw his team fail to record their first home league win of the season in their draw with Killie, but has urged his team to build upon the result gained.

"We wanted to win the game and get above them [Hibs]," McIntyre said.

"We didn't do that, but we picked up a point. It's important to see yourselves on the same points as another team rather than being stuck at the bottom.

"What we've got to do now is take that result and build on it."

Kyle Hutton and Jordan McMillan made their Pars debuts, following their respective loan and permanent moves from Rangers.

"They've got good quality," McIntyre said of his new recuits. "McMillan used the ball well first half and looked to get the ball forward. Kyle's got composure in the middle of the park.

"They will get better with the more games that they can get. It will only benefit the team."
