Falkirk have accepted a bid from Ipswich Town for defender Murray Wallace.
The 19-year-old is in demand south of the border, with both Huddersfield Town and Brighton also keen on the player.
Wallace will feature for his team in Sunday’s Scottish Communities League Cup semi-final against Celtic on Sunday.
He will then head to Portman Road for talks, as the Championship club look to secure his signature.
"We have had a bid accepted by Falkirk for the lad," Jewell told Ipswich’s official website.
"I spoke to Stephen Pressley [Falkirk boss] yesterday and he's a lad that we have been watching for a while.
"We face a lot of competition for him. I know Brighton are keen and there are two or three other clubs as well.
"He's got a big game for Falkirk against Celtic on Sunday [Scottish League Cup semi-final] and then he will be coming down to see us.
"There is a long way to go yet but we are in there fighting."
Wallace only made his Falkirk debut this season and has gone on to make 23 appearances, scoring in games against Livingston and Ross County.
