Dunfermline were the high-profile casualties from the first round of the Ramsdens Cup as they lost 3-2 to Forfar Athletic.

The Second Division outfit went ahead before new singing Ryan Wallace equalised for the Pars.

Jim Jefferies’ side took the lead only to be pegged back when Danny Denholm equalised before Gavin Swankie hit the winner.

Meanwhile Dunfermline’s Fife rivals Raith Rovers were given a scare by Wick Academy.

Mistakes from Dougie Hill and Rovers’ player/manager Grant Murray gifted the home side two goals before Grant Anderson and Pat Clarke rescued the situation for Raith.

Elgin City and Arbroath shared 12 goals at Borough Briggs in a thrilling encounter.

Hat-tricks from Lee Sibanda and Darren Gribben had Paul Sheerin’s men in control only for the Third Division men to mount a late comeback.
