Hamilton Academical boss Billy Reid has strengthened his squad with the acquisition of two midfielders, as the club continue their fight to lift themselves off the bottom of the SPL table.
Shamrock Rovers midfielder James Chambers, a Republic of Ireland Under-21 and Under-23 international, has moved to New Douglas Park, signing a deal until the end of the 2011/12 season.
Dublin-born Chambers, 23, started his career with Shelbourne before switching to Conference North side Solihull Moors in January 2009. Two months later however he returned to Ireland to join Drogheda United, before moving on to Shamrock in November the same year.
Coincidentally, Chambers featured in a friendly match against Hamilton in July 2009 while with Drogheda, a game which finished 1-1.
Chambers is joined by Cardiff City player Aaron Wildig, who will move to the SPL until the end of the campaign.
The 18-year-old Englishman, who was capped at youth level for Wales until it was discovered he did not qualify as previously thought under the grandparent rule, has played 21 times for the Bluebirds and most recently featured as a substitute in their 2-0 FA Cup defeat to Stoke City.
Both players will be officially unveiled by Hamilton on Wednesday morning after receiving international clearance from FIFA. Both also featured in a bounce game with the Accies on Tuesday and could feature in the SPL clash with Kilmarnock on Saturday.
