Promising teenager Callum Paterson got off the mark for Hearts with a deadly double to down Dundee United.
The 17-year-old, who can play a variety of positions, opened the scoring for the capital side at Tannadice before applying the finishing touch to the performance to make it 3-0 in the second half.
Paterson’s manager John McGlynn heaped praise on the youngster for leading the line.
He said: “It was a great strike with his left foot and the second one, I have seen those missed when the angle is narrowed.
“We have not got many strikers so we put him up front.
"He has caused problems and could have scored four goals.”
