Rudi Skacel wants Hearts to secure a European spot for next season after signing a deal to extend his Tynecastle stay.
The popular Czech Republic midfielder signed a contract until the end of the current campaign on deadline day.
And now he wants to ensure that the fans can enjoy a repeat this season’s European adventure where they faced Paksi and Tottenham Hotspur.
The 32-year-old told Hearts News: "I am pleased that the deal was done and that Mr Romanov has extended my stay at the club.
"I am looking forward to the next few months. I want to help the club as much as I can and hopefully finish high enough to get back into Europe again."
Skacel was part of Hearts’ 2006 Scottish Cup winning side after defeating Gretna in a penalty shoot-out.
Paulo Sergio’s team face St Johnstone at Tynecastle on Sunday in a fifth round tie. And after being knocked out by the Perth side last year, Hearts are looking to extend their stay in the tournament.
After squeezing past Auchinleck Talbot in the last round, Skacel is expecting another tough game.
He said: "This is a great tournament and of course we want to do well.
"We have another home draw and it's important we make the most of it this weekend, although St Johnstone are a good team and will be a tough opponent."
