Pat Fenlon has challenged his Hibs players to show a response to their poor start to the season.
The Edinburgh side were brushed aside 3-0 by hosts Dundee United on Sunday and now welcome Hearts to Easter Road in a tough start to the SPL campaign.
After finishing the previous season on the low of a 5-1 cup final defeat to the capital rivals, Fenlon said it is now down to the players to do their bit to turn around the club’s fortunes.
Speaking to the Edinburgh Evening News, Fenlon said: “We need a response from the players on Sunday.
“It’s all with us now, there’s not anything anyone else can do. The supporters came and backed us again and they have also put their money where their mouths are with buying season tickets.
“So we need to give them something to shout about.”
New signing Gary Deegan is expected to come into contention for the derby and Fenlon hopes to secure more new faces to his squad before the September 1 deadline.
