Hibernian midfielder Gary Deegan has been ruled out for weeks after sustaining a broken jaw.
The Irish player’s jaw was broken in an incident in Edinburgh on Saturday night.
STV has learned the injury requires an operation and Deegan will be out of first team action for a number of weeks.
The club have declined to comment.
Deegan’s loss will be keenly felt by Pat fenlon’s men. The 25-year-old has held down a regular central midfield berth since signing from Coventry City.
The Dubliner won two League of Ireland championships and an FAI Cup under Fenlon at Bohemians.
