Hibernian have moved to add Tom Soares to their squad on loan, their second temporary signing of the day.
After the capture of defender James McPake from Coventry City, Soares is also bound for Easter Road until the end of the season.
An attacking midfielder, the 25-year-old joins from Stoke City, having made just one top team appearance this term in a Europa League game.
"I've been impressed with what I've seen at Hibs so far and now I want to repay the manager's faith in me by delivering some performances in the team,” Soares told Hibs’ official website.
"I've settled in quickly and I'll be ready for Rangers, if selected by the manager. I'm really hungry to get my career back on track and to show the Hibs fans what I'm all about."
Soares started his career at Crystal Palace, making 162 appearances for the London club before moving to Stoke in a £1.25m move in 2008.
The player has featured just 12 times for Tony Pulis’ team and has spent time on loan with Charlton Athletic and Sheffield Wednesday.
