Kenny Shiels has confirmed Kilmarnock have signed Lee Johnson on a two-and-half-year deal.
The player received international clearance on Friday and will be in the squad to play Hearts at Rugby Park.
The midfielder left Bristol City at the end of the January transfer window and is available on a free transfer.
Johnson, 30, spent eight months at Tynecastle in 2006, making five appearances, three of which were as a substitute.
And Shiels is delighted to add the former Hearts man to his squad.
He said: "He is our type of player, he will help create chances for the team."
Having played for Watford, Brighton and Yeovil Town before his first spell in Scotland, the player has spent the last six years in Bristol.
Johnson played 202 times for the Robins, while also spending time on loan at Derby County and Chesterfield.
