Montrose have brought in Lloyd Young from East Fife on loan for a month ahead of the visit of second-placed Alloa to Links Park.
The Gable Endies also welcome back Jonathan Smart after injury, but fellow defender Alan Campbell remains sidelined with a knock.
Manager Ray Farningham is hoping Smart's presence shores up a defence that leaked five goals against Berwick last weekend.
He said: "Alloa are the best footballing side in this division and we will need to defend a whole lot better than we have been to keep them out.
"Having Jonathan available will help but everyone in the team has a role to play in defending."
Alloa midfielder Ryan McCord is available for the Wasps following a one-match ban.
But his brother Ross is not making the trip to his former club after picking up an injury.
Stevie Masterton remains out due to a knee ligament injury with manager Paul Hartley looking for his side to bounce back after a disappointing 1-1 draw with East Stirling last weekend.
Hartley said: "We had good chances early in that game but never took them and had to settle for a point but I have been reminding everyone that we were not beaten and have a lot to be confident about.
"I am really looking forward to the game and I am sure that we will enjoy playing on the artificial surface they have there."
