Morton will be without the injured trio of Kevin Rutkiewicz, Martin Hardie and Peter MacDonald for the visitors of SPL Aberdeen in the Ramsdens Cup.
To make matters worse for boss Allan Moore, Craig Reid is struggling after picking up a knock at the weekend.
The Greenock side cannot call on Simon Mensing unless they convert his trial period into a permanent move, however, centre-back Mark McLaughlin is available after suspension and the re-signed Fouad Bachirou could start.
Manager Allan Moore said: "We were disappointing against Hamilton at the weekend but we have the chance to get that out of our system quickly by putting on a good performance against Aberdeen.
"We need to stand up tall and if we do that we will be in with a chance as our tight park may not suit them."
Aberdeen defender Russell Anderson is a major doubt.
Anderson has a head wound and manager Craig Brown is wary of the cut opening up again.
Rory Fallon will be assessed in his return to training following a stomach muscle injury while Jonny Hayes (toe) is a minor doubt and Niall McGinn (ankle) remains sidelined.
