Steve Jennings has told Motherwell boss Stuart McCall he won’t be signing a new contract with the club.
The Englishman has proved a popular figure at Fir Park since joining from Tranmere Rovers in 2009.
Jennings, 27, had been offered a two-year contract to extend his stay in Lanarkshire but he has chosen to decline despite the lure of playing in the Champions League qualifying stages.
Meanwhile McCall has admitted he won’t be able to offer James McFadden a deal to return to the club.
The Scotland international has joined the club for pre-season training after being released by Everton at the end of last season.
McCall says the club simply aren’t in a position to offer the former fans’ favourite a contract.
