Jamie Murphy has turned down the chance to join Blackpool after Motherwell had accepted a bid for the winger.

Murphy spoke to Blackpool after Motherwell granted him permission to discuss personal terms but has decided against moving to Bloomfield Road.

The English Championship side had made a previous approach for the former Scotland Under-21 star and manager Ian Holloway had said that he was unlikely to resurrect his bid for the player.

However, contact was made between the clubs again on Tuesday morning and after an undisclosed fee was agreed between both parties, Blackpool were granted permission to hold talks with Murphy.

The 22-year old came through the youth system at Fir Park and has made over 160 appearances for the club since making his first team debut in 2007.
