Partick Thistle have signed Rangers youngster Darren Cole on loan until the end of the season.
The 19-year-old defender is the second loan star to head to Firhill after Kyle Hutton’s successful spell with Jackie McNamara’s side earlier this season.
Cole, who can play at right-back or centre-back, has made only one appearance for the club against Bursaspor in the Champions League.
The Scotland Under-21 international was denied the chance to make his debut when Partick’s match with Ross County was postponed.
Jackie McNamara told Partick's official website: "He is a player with massive potential and he helps fill a wee hole that has been created by Conrad Balatoni returning to Hearts.
"Darren can play in a number of positions across the back. He is quick and reads the game really well. Hopefully he can really kick-on now that he has joined us until the end of the season.”
The First Division side are also keen to take striker Kal Naismith on loan from Ally McCoist’s team.
Naismith (19) scored two goals in seven starts during his loan spell with Cowdenbeath this season.
Meanwhile in other loan news both John Fleck and Kyle Hutton have been linked with moves to League One side Sheffield United.
Danny Wilson’s side agreed deals with the duo on transfer deadline day in August, but the Blades failed to process the necessary paperwork in time.
However Blackpool, who took Scotland defender Danny Wilson on loan this week, are also said to be interested in midfielder Fleck.
