Peterhead manager Jim McInally was delighted to discover that on-loan Ross County midfielder Russell Duncan can play against visitors Montrose.
McInally had originally been told Duncan's loan deal had expired this week.
The Blue Toon will be missing goalkeeper Paul Jarvie with a hip problem with Davie Ross and Bryan Deasley also out with knocks and Graham Sharp unavailable due to a family commitment in Australia.
McInally said: "It was a bonus to discover that Russell can feature in this one as I had been told that he was due back at County this week not next."
"We won well against Queen's Park last Saturday and we have to build on that as I want us to finish the season as high up the table as we can."
Montrose have central defenders Alan Campbell and Jonathan Sharp suspended.
Former Balmoor striker Garry Wood will also miss out due to an ankle injury.
Manager Ray Farningham said: "We played well last week against an Alloa side who will win the league, before they went down to 10 men.
"When they got a player sent off it seemed to unsettle us and while we had a lot of possession we could not convert that into chances or goals.
"We won up at Peterhead earlier in the season and it would be great to do that again. There are contracts up for grabs at our club and playing well in a tough venue like Balmoor would help someone get one."
