Annan midfielder Ben McKenna has been ruled out of the crucial game with Peterhead at Galabank due to a knee injury.
Black and Gold manager Harry Cairney may also have problems in other areas to consider as goalkeeper Craig Summersgill along with defenders Aaron Muirhead, Peter Watson and John MacBeth are all rated as doubts with midfielder Steven Sloan and striker Graeme Bell struggling as well.
Cairney said: "We are still in there in terms of a play-off place but we have to win to keep it that way.
"We are looking forward to it as a few weeks ago we look dead and buried but we have fought back and who knows where we will end up if we can win this one."
Peterhead are without goalkeeper Paul Jarvie and striker Davie Ross through injury, however the Blue Toon have Roy McBain available after suspension.
Balmoor boss Jim McInally has a special reason for wanting to win the game.
"In my second game in charge of Peterhead we made the long trip down to Annan last November and lost 2-0," he explained.
"They were 21 points ahead at that time and I told the players that I wanted us to catch them before the season was out as we could then say that we have done well.
"Winning this game would bring us level and give us the chance to do that next weekend, although I recognise that they will be fighting hard to retain an interest in the play-offs."
