James Brough's extra-time goal saw Queens Park through to the second round of the Scottish Communities League Cup as they beat Airdrie 3-2 following a 2-2 draw after 90 minutes.
Owen Ronald came close to fluking an opener for the hosts on the half-hour mark before Neil Parry had to be alert to produce a fine save to deny Nathan Blockley at the other end.
But Blockley broke the deadlock two minutes into the second half, converting William McLaren's cross from close range.
Brough was gifted the equaliser when Ronald's free-kick was not cleared on the hour mark.
However, parity was short-lived as substitute Alan Cook volleyed Airdrie back in front six minutes later after good work from John Boyle.
Home sub Lawrence Shankland netted a stunning volley two minutes from the end of regulation time to send the tie into extra time, where Brough sent the Spiders through with a close-range strike in the 104th minute.
