Rangers have announced that they have completed the signing of Emilson Cribari on a two-year deal.
The Brazilian defender has been training at the club's Auchenhowie complex and had impressed manager Ally McCoist as he rebuilds his squad for the new SFL season.
Cribari's capture was announced alongside the signing of former St Johnstone striker Francisco Sandaza.
“I am very happy to be here", he told Rangers' official website. "I got a very good impression when I spoke with the manager and the stadium and the training facilities are excellent.
“The club is famous in my country because it has such a strong history so it was an easy decision for me to make when I had the chance to sign.”
The 32-year-old defender was without a club after leaving Cruzeiro at the end of last season.
Previous to that spell in his homeland, Cribari had spent 13 years in Italy where he played with Empoli, Udinese, Lazio, Siena and Napoli.
It is unlikely that Cribari's registration would be completed in time for him to make his debut against East Fife on Tuesday night.
Having last been registered at a foreign club, an International Transfer Certificate would have to be processed through the SFA before he could play a competitive match.
