Kris Boyd has said that Craig Levein can find the goals he needs against Liechtenstein by starting with last season’s Ibrox strike duo. Boyd moved from Rangers to Middlesbrough in the summer but said he would relish playing alongside former Gers team-mate Kenny Miller on Tuesday night.
Miller and Boyd netted 41 SPL goals between them last term and the Middlesbourgh hitman said they could hit the goal trail together again for the national team if given the chance. Boyd remained on the bench and watched Miller lead the line in the 0-0 draw with Lithuania on Friday but was hopeful he would get his chance to gun down the group minnows the second of Scotland’s Euro 2012 qualifiers.
“We had a successful partnership at Rangers and one or other of us managed to get on the scoresheet in most games,” Boyd told the Sunday Mail.
“If we get the chance on Tuesday I’d like to think we could do it again.
“Hampden has been good for me. I’ve scored goals there and won trophies. Now I’d love to get on the scoresheet against Liechtenstein and help us seal a victory.”

Three points are a must for Scotland against the Group I bottom seeds and Craig Levein has already intimated that he will name an attacking line-up and add some “flair”. The Scotland manager has hinted that Boyd will get his wish and play from the start and James McFadden may also get a chance against the minnows.
Liechtenstein are already bottom of the group after just one match. Bidu Zaugg’s side lost 4-0 at home to World and European champions Spain on Friday night.
Fernando Torres rediscovered his goalscoring form for the national team, scoring twice, with David Villa and David Silva also getting on the scoresheet.
