Ally McCoist will have a say in which players will be let go by Rangers, according to the club’s administrators.
The manager held discussions with Paul Clark and David Whitehouse, the appointed administrators from Duff and Phelps, on Thursday morning.
Players also met with the pair and were informed no decisions will be taken over their futures until next week.
Speaking to the media on the same afternoon, Clark said it was not a foregone conclusion that redundancies would be made. The administrator however said continued discussions would be held with McCoist over how his squad could be affected.
"This morning I spoke to the club's manager Ally McCoist and the playing staff at the club's training at Murray Park," said Clark.
"I told them a review of staffing, including playing staff, would be necessary as part of the process and that it would be next week at least prior to any decisions being taken in this area.
"I'm not going to speculate what this review will entail. I am delighted to confirm that we will be making the February payroll obligations in full.
“We had a good productive meeting with Ally. It was apparent we were able to work together to find the right solution.
“It is something that he and I have agreed that we will speak on a regular basis and meet as regular as we will need to.
“So from that, you can assume Ally will be involved and will be discussing any changes in the playing staff.”
