Frazer Wright was the hero for St Johnstone as he popped up to end Ross County’s 40-game unbeaten league run.
The centre-back rose to meet Liam Craig’s cross to give the Saints all three points in Dingwall.
County went behind for the first time in the SPL when Craig fired a left-foot shot into the corner of the net.
The Staggies were handed the advantage when Rowan Vine was sent off after a clash with home captain Richard Brittain.
Derek Adams’ men got their reward on 68 minutes when Sam Morrow put the finishing touch to Iain Vigurs’ cross to pull the hosts level.
St Johnstone held on and snatched the winner as Wright scored his first of the campaign and they could have added to their advantage with Dave Mackay seeing his shot come back off the post.
