New St Johnstone recruit Gary Miller turned down moves to England to join up for the Perth club’s European adventure.
Miller left Ross County after more than four years in Dingwall, culminating in the Staggies winning promotion to the SPL.
He has joined up with Steve Lomas’ Saints and cannot wait for a taste of Europa League action.
Speaking to The Sun, Miller said: “I listened to the manager and where he wants to take this club. He is ambitious and and excited about the challenge ahead of us.
“I had options in England but another factor is that my former youth coach at Livingston, Alec Cleland, is here.
“I’m already looking forward to the Europa League draw.”
Full-back Miller, 25, thanked Ross County for giving him the platform to build his career and said he loved every minute in the Highlands.
Miller added: “I had a big decision to make after being at Ross County and with them being promoted.
“I definitely wish them all the best for next season. It will be interesting going up against them.”
