Scotland boss not willing to reconsider Steven Fletcher's exclusion

Craig Levein will not change his mind over his refusal to call up Steven Fletcher for Scotland, despite the striker's reported £14m move to Sunderland.

The former Hibernian front man fell out with the coach after turning down a call-up for a Nations Cup game with Northern Ireland in February 2011.

Supporters have again called for Fletcher and Levein to end their dispute, and give the national side the services of a player who scored 12 goals in 34 appearances for Wolverhampton Wanderers last term.

"The door is closed," said Levein. "I left it open for a year. The way I look at it, I spoke already about Darren Fletcher and about his desire and what he's gone through to play for Scotland.

"Then I've another player [Steven Fletcher] where all he had to do was send a text or make a phone call to play for his country.

"He didn't do it so, as far as I am concerned, the door is closed and we will move on without him."
