Beith played host to the draw for the first round of the 2010/11 Scottish Cup on Wednesday and have been handed a home tie against fellow junior side Linlithgow Rose. The West of Scotland Premier League champions will go head-to-head with the Scottish Junior Cup winners in one of the 17 ties to kick off the competition.
35 teams from outside the SPL and SFL went into the pot for the draw, with Wick Academy handed a bye into the second round.
Sunnybank and Bo’ness United are the other two junior teams in this season’s senior Scottish Cup, with the respective North and East League champions facing trips to Gala Fairydean and Selkirk.
Perennial Highland League strugglers Fort William are in with a chance of making it to the second round of the competition, having been drawn against a team who compete in a league against their reserve side.
North Caledonian Football League champions Golspie Sutherland will play host to the Fort at King George V Park, having won the amateur league title for the last four years.
The 17 ties will be played on the weekend of September 25, with replays being held in the event of any drawn matches.
14 clubs will enter in the second round, with the 10 Third Division clubs joining Buckie Thistle, Cove Rangers, Spartans and Threave Rovers in the mix with the 17 first round winners and Wick Academy. Second round ties will be played on October 23.
