Aberdeen manager Craig Brown refused to be too harsh on goalkeeper Jamie Langfield after the stopper’s late blunder cost his side the chance of a point at Celtic Park.

The Dons had defended well before Langfield allowed Kris Commons’ effort to slip into the net after 79 minutes for the only goal of the game.

The 32-year-old worked his way back to fitness last season after suffering from a brain seizure in 2011.

He made four appearances for the Dons last term after a loan spell at Forfar with Jason Brown taking the number one jersey for Brown’s team.

However after the game, Brown refused to be rushed into a snap decision over who he would choose next week against Ross County.

"I am not going to make a decision on that just now but I am not going to condemn," he said.

"If you left out every player for making a mistake you would have no team for next week.

"I will never criticise an individual. I am criticising the team for not responding appropriately to the short corner.

"They had clear instructions and switched off momentarily.

"Everyone in the dressing room is disappointed. They were all apologetic afterwards."
