Celtic defender Danny Fox says he’s ready to turn around the Bhoys' form with a return to the first team. The summer singing is targeting a long run in Tony Mowbray’s team now that he has fully recovered from a hamstring problem.
Fox missed out on October thanks to the niggling injury, but the 24-year-old admits that he hasn’t been at his best – until now.
Speaking on the Celtic website, he said: “It was always going to take a few weeks for me to get my sharpness and fitness back after my injury.
“I’m one of those players who needs to be playing all the time.
“The gaffer knew it would take me a few games to get back into my stride and it’s good to be back playing. I just want to get a consistent run now and help the team get as many wins as possible.”
Fox’s return to top form coincides with the start of a demanding winter schedule which will see the Hoops playing nine matches up to the Old Firm encounter at Celtic Park on January 3.
But Fox added: “I don’t mind playing over the Christmas period, because you are getting paid to play football. That was always my dream.
“I’m sure a lot of Celtic supporters would gladly swap places. It’s part of the job and I’ll enjoy my Christmas when I stop playing.”
