Celtic star Aiden McGeady says the 2-0 win ver Hapoel Tel-Aviv in the Europa League will signal a return to form. The winger admits the win was “too little, too late” but says the fans can expect an improvement in their team's football.
The 23-year-old star player reckons the team are finally finding their way again after a period of time where they could do nothing right.
He said: “Every win at the moment is good. We’ve not been winning a lot of games of late but that’s two on the bounce so hopefully we can win on Saturday as well.
“I don’t want to speak to soon but I think we’re starting to play better as a team. It could be a corner turned for us.
“For some reason we’ve been lacking a lot of quality. The final ball, passing in midfield; the all-round game has been lacking and slowly but surely we can get back to that. I think the last couple of games have shown that."
The win makes it two wins in two games for Tony Mowbray's men, a more attractive statistic than the two wins in 10 games which they could boast up until last weekend.
McGeady added: "We've only got ourselves to blame for the position we've got ourselves in. It's down to games we should have won and chances we've missed. But hopefully this will give us the platform to kick on for the season."
“I’m happy the team’s winning. It’s good when you feel like you’re playing well and you’re confident. And thing are going well. The main part is that we’re playing better than we were a few weeks ago and we’re getting the results.”
