Celtic manager Tony Mowbray tipped Josh Thompson for success after the teenage defender scored the first goal in the Hoops' 3-0 victory over St Johnstone.
On-loan striker Robbie Keane scored twice to seal the win that takes Celtic to 10 points behind SPL leaders Rangers. It was Thompson's first goal for the Hoops since signing from Stockport last summer and Mowbray believes he has a fine future as a defender ahead of him.
"It's always good for a young player to score his first goal, it's something he will always remember," said Mowbray.
"But we are all the more pleased with the clean sheet rather than the goal.
"He is going to build his career on clean sheets rather than goals.
"For a young guy who has just turned 19, he has done exceptionally well and I'm delighted that he is progressing the way he is."
