Braga 3-0 Celtic - Estadio AXA, Braga - Kick off: 8.00pm BST

Full time: Braga 3-0 Celtic

Not a happy European debut for Celtic manager Neil Lennon. A first half penalty gave Braga an early lead and they shuold perhaps have taken more from the first 45 minutes when they were well on top. Celtic looked better in the second half but took their eye off the ball to let Elderson net the second from a corner and Matheus' long range free-kick should have been stopped by Zaluska.

If Celtic's Champions League campaign is to continue beyond the first hurdle they will need a hugely improved performance in just seven days time. they will enjoy home advantage but Braga have shown tonight that the defensive strength of last year has now been allied to a bit of attacking flair. 3-0 may have been a little hard on lennon's side but there was no doubt they were second best over the 90 minutes.

92 mins: Murphy shoots from almost the halfway line and the Braga keeper has to tip the ball over the bar. A corner for Celtic and a last chance to take an away goal. Brown looks to be claiming he was elbowed when the ball comes in but the ref gives the free-kick the other way.

91 mins: Forrest takes a wee bit of a dive on the edge of the box and the ref says no free-kick. Braga race up the pitch and put Matheus through on goal but luckily the flag was up.

90 mins: There will be two minutes of stoppage time. Braga make another change, Barbosa replacing Alan.

87 mins: GOAL Braga 3-0 Celtic

The substitute Matheus wins a free-kick abuot 35 yards out and takes it himself. He opts to shoot, gets plenty of power on the ball and a little swerve but Zaluska should do better. Celtic have a huge job to overturn this scoreline now.

84 mins: A free-kick is given against Cha in the corner and the Korean can't hide his frustration.

81 mins: A lovely passing move by Celtic is broken up by Elderson's foul on Forrest. Mulgrew tries his luck from distance from the free-kick but shoots wide.

80 mins: Mulgrew knocks an inviting pass into the corner but it is too far ahead of Murphy.

78 mins: Looks like Celtic are going for that away goal. James Forrest comes on for Efra Juarez.

76 mins: The Celtic defence switched off at the goal, despite there being plenty of players back. An away goal would make all the difference but with only quarter of an hour left it looks like Lennon's side will have a job to do at Parkhead next week.

75 mins: GOAL Braga 2-0 Celtic

Elderson puts Braga two up from a corner. Matheus pays a high ball in that is allowed to bounce in the box and the Nigerian defender sweeps the ball past Zaluska.

72 mins: Celtic go straight up the park and win a corner. It just evades Loovens at the back post but the referee stays true to form and awards a free-kick to Braga when there is no sign of contact.

71 mins: Matheus puts in a cross from the right but Hooiveld heads clear. Still danger from Braga in flashes but they are not as adventurous as they were.

69 mins: Daryl Murphy comes on for his competitive debut, replacing Maloney.

67 mins: Just over 20 minutes to go and Celtic might benefit from fresh legs. The second half improvement has been good but hasn't brought a goal.

65 mins: Braga make a like for like change. Matheus replaces Lima.

62 mins: Another Mulgrew free-kick from deep is headed clear but the balance of play has shifted slightly and Celtic are the side on the front foot. Still no clear chances though.

60 mins: Braga have a spell of possession that ends with a cross from the right that Zaluska comes out to take. It's a big night for the Polish keeper and he has certainly looked composed enough so far. If Celtic didn't sign another keeper he doesn't look like he would let them down.

58 mins: Loovens is shown yellow for a challenge on Lima.

57 mins: Celtic looking like taking command of the midfield now with Ledley and Ki much improved and Brown seeming to be in about three positions at once. Samaras still a little isolated though.

54 mins: The ref is really picky. Samaras is trying to play the target man role but is he so much as flexes a muscle in the direction of his marker the free-kick goes against him. The difference between the SPL and Europe, basically.

53 mins: Another Braga attack sees Alan wriggle down the right and cut the ball back to the edge of the box but Celtic fall back quickly and the threat is easily dealt with.

51 mins: Another attack breaks down early as Maloney's pass out left is well ahead of Ledley and goes out. Neil Lennon is not impressed.

50 mins: Celtic looking the better side ni the early stages of the second half but still a little wasteful. Mulgrew and then Ki putting simple passes out of play.

48 mins: Another direct attack by Celtic but Samaras is penalised for pushing his marker as he wins the flick on. Straight from the free-kick Braga break up the left but Lima's cross is well handled by Zaluska.

46 mins: Moises fouls Samaras just inside the Braga half. Hooiveld goes forward and Mulgrew puts the ball into the box but it is headed clear.

No changes from either side at the break, as far as I can see.

Half-time: Braga 1-0 Celtic

Of the new boys, Juarez has looked the most impressive and has looked to make the play from deep. Cha has been energetic at right-back and pretty physical but has been a bit lax with his passing at times. Ledley has seen the game pass him by a little and Charlie Mulgrew has looked better in defence than he has going forward where he has looked to keen to get an early ball in to Samsras.

The penalty aside, Braga only had one shot on target but did look threatening throughout. Only 45 minutes into his first European game neil Lennon may already be pondering the tactics of the two legged tie. An away goal would be priceless but making sure Celtic don't concede another could be just as important as a 1-0 defeat wouldn't be a terrible result to take back to Glasgow.

Far from a classic so far. Celtic took a while to settle and before they did they had fallen behind to Braga. the goal came from the penalty spot after Ki handled but the Portuguese side have looked dangerous throughout and Celtic have failed to build up any attacking steam so far. Neil Lennon has to lift his side at half-time and come up with a solution to the problems Alan is causing them at the back.

43 mins: Braga aren't showing the ambition they were. They are now playing with only two up front for the most part but breaking quickly when they have the ball or falling back in to two banks of four when they don't. Not long to go until half-time and it looks like they are going safety first until then.

41 mins: Jos Hooiveld does go in the book. He sees yellow for a challenge on Lima.

39 mins: Celtic are looking more settled as the half goes on but remain a goal behind. They are quicker at winning the ball back and holding on to possession longer. Loovens is lucky not to be booked though, after trying to climb over Salino to get the ball.

37 mins: Samaras is in possession but pushes his marker away before a challenge comes in and gives away a free-kick. Not ideal when he should be holding the ball up to draw other sin.

35 mins: Brown gets on the end of a Maloney cross and sidefoots wide but it wouldn't have counted anyway as he was marginally offside. More encouraging from the Hoops now.

32 mins: Alan is proving to ba a handful he twists and turns at the by-line with Loovens in close and still fires in a dangerous cross. Celtic need a plan to stifle him.

29 mins: Juarez looks purposeful whenever he is on the ball and is trying to force Ki and Ledley further forward. Celtic look all the better for it but seem to keen to end a minute of possession with a hopeful high ball.

27 mins: Braga aren't sitting back on their lead. they consistently have two men wide and two through the middle in attack and are looking more assured the longer the match goes on.  Celtic seem to lose it whenever they are in the opposition half.

26 mins: The exotically named Brazilian Alan has one of those stop-start run-ups before hitting the penalty into the top corner. Celtic are one down.

25 mins: Penalty to Braga - Ki blocks a cross from the right with a combination of chest and hand. The ref has no hesitation in pointing to the spot but it was anything but a stonewaller.

22 mins: The ref is a bit fussy. A challenge from Mulgrew on out on the left touchline looks hard but fair yet the ref gives Braga the advantage.

19 mins: Better from Celtic as they attack down the left. Mulgrew plays a quick ball inside to Ki and though he picks out Brown with a deft pass he is clattered for his trouble. The free-kick from just inside the braga half is wasted though.

17 mins: Best chance for Braga so far. Paolo Cesar cuts in from the left and hits a right-footed shot that Zaluska gets down quickly to block. Celtic are getting hemmed in a bit here and need to hold possession better.

16 mins: Alan is proving a real danger and is pulling the strings in midfield. He is consistently finding space to put balls out to the wide areas.

14 mins: Braga look to have settled quicker. The new boys in the Celtic side look good individually but, perhaps not surprisingly, the side looks a little disjointed so far.

11 mins: Braga's Alan threads a ball through that puts Lima in on Zaluska but the keeper is quick off his line and sees off the danger.

10 mins: Celtic safely defend a free kick and break quickly through Juarez on the left but it comes to nothing.

8 mins: Braga built themselves a reputation as a solid defensive side last year but they are committing plenty of men forward when they get the ball. No clear chances but twice now they have had four players well forward and man for man with the Celtic defence.

6 mins: Mulgrew yellow carded for Celtic. Moments later Cha shows he has a physical side to his game as he bounces Cesar off the ball but only concedes a free-kick.

5 mins: Celtic in a 4-4-2 with Maloney playing off Samaras. Seeing a fair bit of the ball but it's a little frantic.

4 mins: Bit scrappy but Celtic looking composed in defence. Charlie Mulgrew dealing well with attack down Celtic's left flank.

2 mins: Early chance for Celtic with a free-kick from 30 yards that Ki puts high over the bar. It's a bright orange ball, by the way. In summer, no idea why.

1 min: Braga stroking it about at the back after kick off but Celtic win it quickly and Cha "the human weapon" Du-Ri makes his first burst forward from right back in a Celtic jersey.

8.00pm Quite a noisy place as Braga kick off.

7.59pm The teams take to the field. Celtic are in the bumblebee away kit,; Braga in their red tops with white sleeves.

7.57pm Gary Hooper won't get his wish to make his Celtic debut tonight. The striker completed his move to the club yesterday just in time to make the flight but all that rushing was in vain as he didn't make the matchday squad.

7.56pm It may be late evening but it looks pretty hot in Braga, plenty of the crowd fanning themselves prior to the teams coming out. I hope Lenny packed his sunblock.

7.55pm The Estadio AXA has to be one of the best looking stadia in Europe. Carved out of a quarry and with a wall of rock behind one goal, it is instantly recognisable.

7.52pm Neither team have made a competitive match yet this season and both have made a raft of changes to their playing squad. It could be that the first team to settle takes the advantage in this tie but Celtic will be desperately keen to have a good result to take back to Parkhead.

Braga team: Felgueiras, Rodriguez, Moises, Cesar, Garcia, Lima, Elderson, Madrid, Salino, Alan, Vandinho

Braga substitutes: Artur, Barbosa, Keita, Meyong, Silvio, Capela, Matheus

Celtic team: Celtic team: Zaluska, Mulgrew, Hooiveld, Loovens, Cha, Juarez, Brown (c), Ledley, Ki, Samaras, Maloney

Celtic substitutes: Cervi, Rogne, Crosas, McCourt, Murphy, Forrest, Fortune

7.47pm The teams have been announced and there is no place for Aiden McGeady in the Celtic team, or even on the bench. He may be injured or it could be that his move from Parkhead is imminent and the club don't want him to be cup-tied. We'll let you know if we hear anything.

7.45pm Good evening and welcome to STV Sport's live text commentary of Braga v Celtic. The match gets underway in 15 minutes and several of Neil Lennon's new signings will be getting their first taste of competitive action in green and white.
