Ipswich bound: Stevenson could seal a deal to Portman Road Pic: © STV
Ryan Stevenson is set to seal a move to English Championship side Ipswitch Town.
STV can reveal that the English side have agreed a fee of £50,000 with Hearts to take the unsettled striker to Portman Road.
Stevenson, who refused to play for Hearts following a dispute over unpaid wages, is believed to be in Ipswich undergoing a medical with the deal due to be completed by Monday.
Hearts had earlier knocked back a bid for Stevenson, believed to be around £20,000, from English League Two side Crawley Town while SPL side Dundee United had reportedly expressed an interest.
The 27-year-old has made 61 appearances for the Jambos after signing from boyhood heroes Ayr United two years ago, scoring 9 goals.
However he has not featured for the Gorgie club since December of last year after embarking on a self-imposed exile over the club's much publicised wage dispute.
The striker claimed that the wages saga was stressful for both him and his wife, putting the health of his unborn child at risk.
Should the deal go ahead, Stevenson will become Paul Jewell's first January signing for Ipswich, although the striker is short of match fitness.
The Tractor Boys are currently sitting just four points above the English Championship relegation zone.
