The Rangers dressing room erupted into a war of words on Saturday as Davie Weir let rip at Kyle Lafferty at half time for his efforts on the pitch. Rangers were in the process of going down to their first loss of the season at Pittodrie thanks to a first half Lee Miller goal and a spate of misses in front of goal, including a clear-cut chance for Lafferty.

According to reports in the Sun, the Rangers captain took the £3.25million striker to task for his attitude when the teams came in for half time.

But the 6’4” striker hit back as frustrations spilled over and the Rangers management team had to step in to calm the situation.

Lafferty was subbed and Weir and the rest of the Ibrox side went on to be denied time and again as they lost their lead at the top of the SPL to Celtic.

The bust-up comes days after Kenny Miller and Madjid Bougherra had a furious spat during training at Murray Park.

The Scotland striker had previously been critical of the Algerian defender over his late return from World Cup duty.

But Bougherra sought to dismiss the arguement yesterday, denying that the incident had been caused by Miller's comments.

Bougherra said: "Not at all. We certainly had an altercation but this happens all the time at clubs across the world."
