Rangers have enquired about the availability of Romanian left-sided player Cristian Pulhac. According to reports in his home country, the player, who has been in talks over a move to Spanish side Getafe, could instead be tempted to head to the SPL.

The Scottish side are yet to make a firm offer for Pulhac, who has three international caps. Described as an attack-minded full-back, the Dinamo Bucharest wide man would be available for around £600,000.

Rangers boss Walter Smith is in the market for wide players, having missed out on a move for Burnley winger Chris Eagles earlier this month. Although Pulhac plays at left-back for his club, he could be encouraged to play further forward in the Gers team.

Smith can currently call upon Sasa Papac and Gregg Wylde for the left-back slot, with Steven Smith having left the club on a free transfer at the end of last season.

“There are discussions but I cannot say if they were completed,” Dinamo manager Ioan Andone told Sport.ro. “Hopefully he will be in the team to play Hajduk Split.”

Pulhac has played three times for Dinamo in the qualifiers for the Europa League, scoring in the 7-1 aggregate win over Moldovans Olimpia in the second preliminary round. He also featured in Thursday night’s third qualifying round first leg against Hajduk Split, which Dinamo won 3-1.

If Dinamo were to go on and play in the Europa League group stages, Pulhac would not be eligible to participate in the Champions League for Rangers. However, if his side fall short, the Glasgow club could name him in their 25-man pool.
