Greek defender Anestis Argyriou has joined Rangers for training, linking up with three other trialists at the club.

The former AEK Athens player, who left the club in the summer, went through his paces with Ally McCoist's side on Friday.

French defender Sebastien Faure and Australian striker Francesco Stella are also on trial with the Third Division club.

Francesco Celeste, an Argentinian midfielder who was once on the books at Boca Juniors, also trained.

Argyriou, 24, represented Greece at Under-21 level. A central defender, who can also play at right back, he started his career with Aetos Skydra before moving to Panthrakikos in 2007.

After three years, he moved on to AEK Athens but struggled to hold down a regular place, playing just 13 times, before being released.
