Scotland head coach Andy Robinson has named his team to take on Australia in their first tour match of the summer.

The side features six changes to the line up that ended the disappointing Six Nations defeat to Italy which saw the Scots handed the wooden spoon.

Glasgow Warriors prop Ryan Grant will make his debut while Edinburgh’s Matt Scott will make his first start for the national team after coming on as a sub against Ireland.

Club commitments mean Jim Hamilton and Max Evans won’t feature against the Wallabies, the latter angering Robinson.

Ross Ford retains the captain’s armband for the tour as Robinson’s men look for positives results after another disappointing start to the year.

The one-off test against the Wallabies will be played at Newcastle, in Australia's Hunter Valley, on Tuesday.

Scotland team to face Australia: S Hogg; J Ansbro, N De Luca, M Scott, S Lamont; G Laidlaw, M Blair, R Grant, R Ford, E Murray. A Kellock, R Gray, A Strokosch, R Rennie, J Barclay.

Replacements: S Lawson, J Welsh, T Ryder, R Vernon, C Cusiter D Weir, T Brown.
