Scotland rugby head coach Andy Robinson has sprung a surprise by naming two captains for the forthcoming autumn tests against Fiji, Australia and Argentina.
Mike Blair and Chris Cusiter will both lead the side in the November games at Murrayfield, as Scotland look to find their best 15 for the 2010 Six Nations, which starts in February.
Robinson believes the experience of the duo will lead his side to morale-boosting victories in front of a home crowd.
“Leadership is not about one person," said Robinson. "It’s about developing a number of leaders. This year we are going to have two captains – Mike Blair and Chris Cusiter; two world-class players; two world-class people.
"What that enables me to do is whichever one is selected will lead the team – but off the pitch the two will lead the team together.”
Scotland will be looking for an improved showing from the 2008 tests, in which they lost to New Zealand and South Africa before a 41-0 rout of Canada at Aberdeen's Pittodrie stadium.
Fiji are the first visitors to Edinburgh on Saturday November 14, followed by Australia on November 21 and finally Argentina on November 28.
Tickets are still available for all three internationals. For more information, visit the Scottish Rugby website at www.scottishrugby.org.
