Glasgow Warriors prop Ed Kalman has been called into the Scotland squad for their opening two Six Nations games.
Kalman, who is uncapped, will replace his injured club team-mate Moray Low for the games against England and Wales.
The 29-year-old will join up with Andy Robinson’s squad at a training camp in St Andrews next week.
Former Border Reivers player Kalman impressed in Warriors’ Heineken Cup tie with Leinster on Sunday, in a match which saw the Glasgow club’s hopes of progressing in Europe all but ended.
The player has represented Scotland A 12 times and last appeared for the second string in the IRB Nations Cup in June 2010.
Scotland kick off their 2012 Six Nations campaign against England on February 4 at Murrayfield, before travelling to the Millennium to face Wales on February 12.
