Phil Godman is the latest inclusion in the Scotland squad for the opening two matches of the Six Nations.
The Edinburgh stand-off, who scored the winning drop goal in his club side’s recent Heineken Cup win over Racing Metro, will join Andy Robinson’s side for their training camp in St Andrews next week.
Godman has been drafted in to cover Glasgow Warriors’ Ruaridh Jackson, who is currently absent with a leg injury.
The 29-year-old spent a year out with a knee injury, making his return in September, and says he retained hope he could make his way back into the Scotland setup.
"You always think about getting back into it for the club but also about playing for Scotland as well," he told the SRU’s official website.
"It's just great to be back playing for Edinburgh and to be back involved with Scotland."
