Scotland coach Andy Robinson has stoked the flames ahead of his team’s Six Nations clash with England by labelling their behaviour at last year’s World Cup as ‘arrogant’.
Former England coach Robinson saw Martin Johnson’s men suffer a disappointing time on and off the pitch during the competition in New Zealand.
Stories emerged of players misbehaving leading to disciplinary proceedings for several members of the squad.
Englandstill managed to beat Robinson’s Scotland side 16-12 at the tournament. And Robinson is hoping to make amends when the teams meet on February 4.
He told the Mail on Sunday: "It’s important for any team to show humility, especially when you are winning.
“I thought a number of England players undermined this in the arrogance they showed.
"They know who they are and it was not across the board, but unfortunately the whole squad got tarnished.
"You need self-belief in players, of course, but you also need to possess some humility, and a number of players overstepped the mark."
