Stunt cyclist Danny MacAskill is set to take the internet by storm once again with his latest jaw-dropping video. MacAskill became a YouTube sensation last year when a film of him performing tricks on the streets of Edinburgh had instant success and has now been watched over 20 million times.

The Skye-born phenomenon’s new work Way Back Home sees him take his skills on tour around Scotland, beginning in Edinburgh and ending in Dunvegan, the village where he grew up.

Showcasing MacAskill’s stunning range of tricks and stunts, the film shows him performing in front of curious passers-by at Edinburgh Castle and spinning and flipping in the shadow of the Forth Rail Bridge. Travelling along the coast and through the Highlands, the 24-year old swaps benches and railings for buildings and coastal walls to perform his trademark acrobatics.

MacAskill said the highlight for him was getting to try a stunt he had first thought of on a previous trip home to Dunvegan.

“My favorite spot in the riding clip is probably the bakery wall ride in my local village,“ he said. "sI found it by walking out of the bakery with a big pasty! And then I saw the grass bank and the wall and thought I could maybe jump up there one day.”

The video was made by MacAskill’s friend and collaborator Dave Sowerby, who also filmed April 2009, which catapulted the cyclist to fame and saw him attract offers from Hollywood as well as landing him sponsorship from energy drink company Red Bull.

As the new video shows, MacAskill is no one-hit wonder and though his global appeal is sure to grow, the Scot has shown that to perform his exhilirating stunts, there is no place like home.
