Edinburgh fell to a narrow home defeat to Welsh opposition in a match blighted by the absence of key first-team players for both sides.
The visitors, missing 19 men, scored tries through Richard Hibbard and Hanno Dirksen with Dan Biggar adding a conversion and a drop goal.
The hosts saw Dougie Fife score a try on his debut with Phil Godman kicking three penalties.
Edinburgh were first to get on the scoreboard with Godman firing over from a difficult angle.
Some fine work from veteran Chris Patterson allowed Alun Walker to play in Godman and the fly-half found youngster Fife to cross the line.
Biggar pulled the visitors back into the game with a drop goal before Hibbard powered over from a lineout to level the scores.
Another Godman penalty gave Michael Bradley’s team an 11-8 half-time lead.
Godman stepped up again to boost the home side’s tally but Ospreys hit back with a stunning try by Dirksen.
The winger glided past Paterson before chipping the ball over Godman and deceiving Tim Visser before sliding over the line.
Biggar converted before both he and Godman missed kicks.
The Welsh team’s defence held firm and left Edinburgh with a bonus point defeat from a gruelling contest.
