Andy Murray has confirmed he will defend his AEGON Championships title at Queen’s Club this June.

The Scot beat James Blake in 2009 and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in last year’s final to win the tournament which is traditionally the final competition before Wimbledon.

The 24-year-old said: "I'm excited to be going back to The Queen's Club. It's a great tournament and the grass courts are as good as anywhere in the world, so it's the perfect preparation for Wimbledon.

"There's always a great atmosphere and, having won the trophy twice previously, I have nothing but good memories.

“They also have one of the biggest trophies on the tennis circuit, and most of the Wimbledon champions are on it, so you know it's a big deal. I'd love to win it again this year."

If the Dunblane ace was to claim the crown for a third time he would equal FG Lowe’s achievements in the 1920s.

Murray’s new coach Ivan Lendl won the tournament in successive years in 1989 and 1990.
