LONDON (Reuters) - WBA light-welterweight champion Amir Khan will make his United States debut in May when he defends his title against Paulie Malignaggi in New York, promoters said on Tuesday.
The fight, which will take place at Madison Square Gardens on May 15, will be 23-year-old Khan's second defence after he demolished Ukrainian Dmitriy Salita in 76 seconds last December.
American Malignaggi, 29, who lost to former IBO light-welterweight champion Ricky Hatton in 2008, beat Juan Diaz in December to avenge a 12-round defeat in August last year.
